Suspect still sought after multiple drug arrests
(Filed June 21, 2013) Detectives with the McCracken and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug investigation involving Lisa Russell and Danny Bradley yesterday. The investigation has resulted in multiple arrests and an ongoing search for Bradley.
Information obtained yesterday morning alleged the couple was carrying drugs in a vehicle the two were traveling in. During the investigation, detectives learned the couple had traveled to the McCracken County Courthouse, in Paducah, Ky., that morning.
Detectives located a 1994 Ford Ranger registered to Bradley at the courthouse and with the aid of Paducah Police K-9 Officer Shawn Craven and his narcotic detection K-9 “Hubb” detected the presence of a narcotic odor coming from the truck.
Detectives searched the vehicle and located 19 grams of crystal methamphetamine concealed inside. The seized methamphetamine has an estimated street value of $1,900.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Bradley had already left the courthouse with another man in a separate vehicle.
Russell, the woman accompanying Bradley, was arrested on unrelated charges while making a court appearance for a shoplifting offense.
Attempts to locate Bradley in Paducah and Marshall County have been unsuccessful.
The investigation led detectives to obtain and execute a search warrant at Bradley’s residence on Griggstown Road in Marshall County.
While conducting the search, officers seized additional drugs, currency, paraphernalia and a firearm at the property.
Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars said that while officers were securing the location other people pulled up to the residence.
“As a result of the original search of the house, three others were arrested,” he said.
Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Harold Bess, 36, of Calvert City, Amanda Stokes, 30, of Grand Rivers, and Robert Burton, 45, of Calvert City, for numerous drug charges.
Detectives seized more than $37,000 in cash, approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine and nearly a pound of marijuana during the course of the investigation.
The charges stem from a joint investigation between Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, McCracken County Sheriff’s Department and ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives).
Officers charged Bess with first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance, second offense - methamphetamine, and trafficking marijuana of more than eight ounces less than five pounds.
Officers charged Stokes with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense - methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers charged Burton with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense - methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigations are continuing and additional arrests are likely.
Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant in McCracken County for Bradley on June 21 charging him with one count of trafficking in methamphetamine.
