Greer faces two theft charges

Ronald Greer, 32, of Metropolis, IL has been arrested and charged with the theft of a large farm trailer that was stolen from the Tiline area of Livingston County on September 25, 2013 according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department Greer is alleged to have admitted his involvement in the theft of a generator and some tools from a Livingston County residence located at 736 Iuke Road on or about December 16, 2013.
According to the news release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department Greer has been charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500, a class D felony for allegedly taking the trailer and with an additional count of Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500, a class D Felony for allegedly taking the generator and other tools.
Livingston investigators say information about the trailer theft led them to Greer in Kurtsville, MO where he was arrested and transported back to Kentucky. The tools and generator were taken from an acquaintance of Greer’s. The acquaintance suspected Greer according to police and questioned him about them. Police say Greer told the victim he had borrowed the tools and they were stolen from him in Nashville. Greer allegedly told the victim he had filed a police report about the theft with Nashville Metro Police Department. Livingston Sheriff’s investigators checked and found that this was not true.
According to the release from the Livingston Sheriff’s Department Greer admitted his involvement in the theft of the generator and tools.
