Investigation leads to multiple charges for Calvert couple

Kevin R. Roberts and his wife, Jessica R. Roberts were arrested on drug charges on Tuesday February 18, 2014, at approximately 10:53 a.m.


Officers from the Calvert City Police Department along with the assistance of Marshall County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on the property of 643 Hemlock Street in Calvert City belonging to Kevin R. Roberts and his wife, Jessica R. Roberts.

After a lengthy investigation, information was received that Roberts was manufacturing Methamphetamine on the property. Further investigation provided Officers with enough evidence to obtain the search warrant. Jessica Roberts was at the residence when the search warrant was executed. Her husband Kevin Roberts was detained at his place of employment, Tri State Valve & Instrument located at 326 North Main Street in Calvert City. Roberts was then transported to his residence on 643 Hemlock Street.

Officers located finished products as well as chemicals and equipment used in the manufacturing process. The chemicals and vessels were photographed, deactivated and packed due to hazardous chemicals. Social Services were notified along with the Health Department. Surveillance cameras and computer equipment containing illicit drug material was also seized. A .380 handgun was also located and $787.00 dollars in cash.

All evidence was collected and transported to the Calvert City Police Department. Kevin Roberts and Jessica Roberts were subsequently charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two counts of Controlled Substance Endangerment to Child 4th Degree. Both subjects were taken to the Marshall County Detention Center and lodged. This case is still being investigated by the Calvert City Police Department.
