Salem man faces felony charges
(Filed August 27, 2013) Salem- Last Sunday Ronald Shaw, 26, was arrested after a brief struggle with Livingston County Deputies in a residence on South Hayden Street in Salem, KY.
According to a news release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s office deputies had been seeking Shaw because they had information that he had violated an Emergency protection order at a residence on Mill Street in Salem.
The report said Shaw fled the residence on Mill Street on foot when the victim dialed 911. That touched off a search of the area nearest the residence. Kentucky State Police and members of McCracken County Sheriff’s K-9 unit assisted Livingston County Deputies in the search.
During the search sheriff’s deputies received a tip that Shaw was in a residence on South Hayden Street and was holding the occupants of the residence against their will. Sheriff’s Deputies entered the residence and took Shaw into custody after a brief struggle.
Shaw was charged with Violation of an Emergency Protective Order, Two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment (felony), Burglary 2nd Degree (Felony), Assault 3rd On Police Officer (Felony) and resisting arrest.
Shaw was also charged on a Crittenden County Warrant for Robbery and lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
