Butler faces drug charges
(Filed August 13, 2013) Benton- James Butler, 58, of 10 Etheridge Lane, Benton has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by Marshall County Sheriff’s officers.
According to a news release today from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office they arrested Butler yesterday after searching his home and finding an active meth lab.
Methamphetamine and a firearm were found at the residence. Sheriff’s Detectives received a tip from an informant that Butler was manufacturing meth and got a search warrant to search the property. Butler was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
According to the report detectives and members of the Fairdealing/Olive Fire Department and the East Marshall Fire Department spent several hours cleaning up the active meth lab.
Butler faces the following charges: driving on suspended operator’s license, fleeing and evading police, manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
