Marshall County Family Week September 2-8

The mission of Marshall County Family Week is to encourage families to spend time together through various activities sponsored by community organizations throughout Marshall County.


Sunday: Start the week out right by attending church as a family.

 

Monday: Go to Maggie’s Jungle Golf and play putt-putt as a family.

 

Tuesday: Bark in the Park – Marshall County Animal Shelter Fundraising Event 6-8 p.m. at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville. Bring your 4-legged friend to participate in Best Tail Wag, Best Hair, Best Trick, Dog Owner Look Alike, Fan Favorite, and Costume Contest – all participants will get a goody bag. Wednesday: Family Outdoors Night. Fishing, games, and various animal parts to see and feel. Clarks River Wildlife Refuge Pond, from 4-7 p.m. across from WCBL Radio Station in Benton. Some fishing poles will be on hand and bait will be provided. For more information, contact Stacey at 205-5087.

 

Thursday: Family Night at the Marshall County Library is coming to all three branches, Calvert City, Benton and Hardin, on September 6! Join us for a carnival-like atmosphere with activities, refreshments and door prizes from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Calvert City will have a Bounce House and a balloon artist, Hardin will have Nature’s Nightlife and face painting, and Benton will have the Foto Fun Booth and a performer.

 

Friday:  Play a game or attend a sporting event as a family.

 

Saturday: Family Day in the Park will be held at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville on September 8. There will be a Fun Run from 7:50 a.m. – 10 a.m. and same day registration is from 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. Also from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Soccer Fields there will be Free Inflatibles, Rock Wall, Giant Slide, Face Painting, Obstacle Course, Marshall County Arts Commission with the musical zoo, FLW Boat Simulator, Games, Free Marshall County Sheriff’s Department holding the KID ID Program, EMS Responders/Air-Evac Helicopter – Meet local responders, Policemen, Firemen and Paramedics. Hotdogs provided by Magic Valley BBQ at 11:30, snow cones, cotton candy, popsicles, popcorn and lots of fun! For more information visit www.mcfamilyweek.com
