171st Annual Tater Day Festival kicks off Friday
The Kiwanis Club of Benton, Kentucky presents the 171st Annual Tater Day Festival, April 4 - April 7 in downtown Benton with many events and great food. Casey's Amusements at the HH Lovett Park will be Friday through Monday. Vendors and food will be throughout Benton Friday – Monday.

Saturday, March 29 the Miss Tater Day Beauty Pageant was held to kick off the events.
Friday, April 4:
• 6:00 p.m. Dirt Kart Racing at HH Lovett Park. Admission: $10 at gate, $5 pit pass. Contact 270-703-2049 for information.
Saturday, April 5:
• Tater Trot: 29th Annual Marshall County Track & Field Booster Club Tater Trot Fitness Walk & Run. $18 Registration 7:45- 8:30 AM, 5K Race at 9:00 AM, Run/Walk at 9:30 AM. Held at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville.
Unique awards will be given for the 5k race in the following age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 years and over. • Demolition Derby:
6:00 PM at H.H. Lovett Park. Gates open at 4:00 PM, Pit opens at 2:00 PM. Driver Entry Fee - $30 registration + $15 gate. All participants must be registered by 4:30 PM. $10 (6 and under FREE). Pit passes $5. NO ALCOHOL allowed. All derby cars must enter from 14th St. to Park Ave. Contact: Danny Sirls at 270-493-1030.
Monday, April 7:
• Pancake Breakfast: The Benton Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, 7:00 – 10:00 AM at Benton Elementary School. $4 per person. Contact Kip Mathis at 270-527-3153 for more info.
