Local food distributors to provide tastings and more at Tater Day
There will be a display of local food distributors on Monday, April 7, at Tater Day, at 1516 Main Street in Benton. A Lamb tasting will be available (while it lasts) starting at 8:00 a.m. The lamb was furnished by Paul Howard Purebred Katahdin Sheep Farm and cooked by Magic Valley BBQ.
There will be local gardeners who will explain their Basket Delivery Service of fresh vegetables. Blueberries and strawberries are also available in season locally. There will be people who supply grass fed lamb, beef, goat, pork, and free range eggs.
Natural predator control by Great Pyrenees dogs, donkeys, Llama and insect control by peafowl and guineas. These birds will remove ticks from a large area. Ticks cause Lyme disease in dogs and people. Other animals are an Emus and an Alpaca. Portable hen houses and other pens will be on display courtesy of Marshall County Co-op. Pens will be available at the end of the day.
Our goal is to have local people to connect with local producers for healthy food. There is an animal answer for everything.
